(HVK Santana x La Donna) Wintergreen Don Diego was purchased by MarKat Morgan Horses from Wintergreen Morgan’s of Woodland CA, our thanks to Ann Taylor for giving us the opportunity to own such a fine stallion.
Since Wintergreen Don Diego’s arrival at MarKat Morgans, he has expanded his accomplishment. Added to his already fine skills of traditional dressage, where he is starting 4th level, and hunter over fences, where he was a World Champion Morgan several times, "Diego" has added Carriage Driving, Western Dressage, and now Trail to his “bag of tricks”. All this makes him the true definition of a versatile Morgan horse.
Wintergreen Don Diego stands to the public with Private Treaty. Look for photos of Don Diego's son, MarKat Matador born 4/1/12. He just turned two and is already over 15h. He is very flashy and talented. Please consider Wintergreen Don Diego for your breeding program.
U V M Pembroke
(UVM Watchman x UVM Envy) "Pem" is the foundation sire for MarKat. He has been the horse of our dreams and we are still thrilled that he is ours. We send a continuing thank you to Jane Cookson of Greenwood Farm for that privilege. He has passed his beauty, personality and disposition to his get and is still the farm “clown” full of antics every day. It is quite a site to see him sache over to his resident mares at 29. You would think he was still a youngster. We have decided that it is time to no longer stand him to the public and pass the reins to the younger generations. Pem will continue to be a selective part of the farm breeding.
MarKat Premier
( UVM Pembroke x KLN Commandra)
"Remy", as he is affectionately known, is a gorgeous bay stallion who has great athletic talent, personality, and a great disposition. He was first shown at the end of the 2011 show season and walked away as the Grand Champion Stallion. He is expected to enter the performance show ring in 2014 in pleasure driving. We have great expectations for him. Remy is ready to carry on the Pembroke tradition. He has his first foal on the ground and she is a beauty. Please consider Remy for your breeding needs or a Remy foal for your immediate pleasure.
PRIVATE TREATY
MarKat Sneak Preview
(UVM Pembroke X KLN Commandra)
“Sneakers” is another example of the dynamic cross between Pembroke and Commandra. He combines the elegance and grace of both his sire and his dam. He is 5 and already stands 15 hands. His head is chiseled and refined. He is a bay. He is happily enjoying his colt-hood with friend and instructor Code 4 our thoroughbred gelding who is great at teaching young stallions the ropes and proper behavior. He is an in your pocket kind of guy, yet is well mannered. Keep an eye on him as he grows to maturity

A Truly versatile Morgan Horse!
Cream Hill Destiny
"Destiny" was purchased from Norm Lizotte of CreamHill Farm in Vermont. She is of Lambert breeding. This beautiful mare has been trained to both ride and drive, but her main job has been as a broodmare. Destiny had 3 foals before arriving at MarKat and has had 3 since arriving. She has foaled MarKat Music Man, MarKat Beyonce, and MarKat Pemtation. This mare has crossed beautifully with the foundation sire UVM Pembroke. A serious foaling incident has sidelined Destiny for the time being. She is now in an extended recovery program.
Cream Hill Liberty
"Libby" is a beautiful liver chestnut mare. She was purchased by MarKat while she was still at her mother’s side. (CreamHill Destiny) Libby has had a successful career in hunt, dressage, and a little trail under the direction of Jec Ballou. She has now returned to Sonoma where she continues her training for driving, western and western dressage with Christine Brecht. She will enter the broodmare band in 2014.
Greenwood Victoria
(UVM Pembroke X Greenwood Joy)
Greenwood Victoria is a daughter of our foundation sire and was purchased from Greenwood Farm in Montana to have a grown Pembroke daughter on site. Being as her sire had not competed for years, it was decided to place her in the ring for a time prior to going to the breeding shed. "Victoria" took some time off to go to the breeding shed. She was bred to Springfield Rifle owned by Chris and Janet Morris. She delivered an exquisite filly almost a month late that is named MarKat Victorianna. The look on Victoria’s face was priceless when she saw her filly. It was as if she was saying “hey wait a minute, I am a show horse, what is this?” After brief discussion with the mare, it was decided that she would return to the show ring for a couple more seasons. Prior to her roll as Mom, she successfully competed in dressage and hunt under the direction of Jec Ballou. Quite by accident we discovered that Vic loves to drive and has also competed successfully in that arena. Christine Brecht of Moon Valley Training is doing a wonderful job with the mare. Vicki will return to her broodmare duties shortly.
SkyRidge Tiger Lilly
(UVM Jefferson X SkyRidge VanDora)
"Lilly" was foaled on April 27, 2003 She is the last foal of UVM Jefferson who was standing at SkyRidge. Her dam, SkyRidge VanDora, is a beautiful mare by UVM Vantage. Lilly’s half sister is SkyRidge Lady Prosecutor. Lilly is a beautiful sport horse mare that was the last filly of the SkyRidge breeding program. She was the grand champion sport horse mare at the Mother Lode Show in 2007. She long lines and she has been trained to drive. She has entered the broodmare band and is expecting her first foal by Wintergreen Don Diego in April. We are excited to see the cross between these two exceptional horses. We will keep you posted.
